In this video you are going to see how to split video using cinelerra video editor.

First add a video. Double click on it to play it in a viewer.
Click on normal forward button window to play the video.
Here we are going to remove scenes which don’t have cycling.
To do that first we will need to select those scenes and cut them from our video.
There are different ways to cut video so let’s see them.

First drag and drop the video on timeline.
Click on normal forward button on compositor to play the video.

on timeline click on the clip ad drag the mouse to left or right side.
To select the scene to cut.

Selected video get highlighted on timeline.

Scissor icon-
Now to cut it click on scissor icon on compositor window.

Or click on scissor icon on cinelerra window to cut the clip.

Edit – split/cut
Click on edit menu click on split/cut

Keyboard shortcut-
Or hit X key on keyboard to cut the clip.

Once done click on the normal forward button on compositor window to play the video.

So this way we can split or cut the video in cinelerra
