In this tutorial you are going to see how to fade out video using shotcut.

First import the video. Click on the play button to check it. Add it to playlist. Add a video track on timeline. Drag & drop the video on video track. Click on the play button to check it. 

First method- 

Fade in- On toolbar click on add a filter. Search fade in video, click on it to apply. Click on duration to change the duration of the effect. 

fade out- Now add fade out video effect. Change it’s duration click on the plus sign next to duration for that. Now click on the play button to check the effect. 

second method- 

fade in- Take your mouse pointer at the top left corner of the clip & when pointer changes click on the circle that appears and drag it to add the effect. Change it’s duration by dragging it further.

 fade out- To add fade out video effect take mouse pointer at the top right corner of the clip, and do the same. Click on the play button to check it. 

So this way we can add fade in / out video effect using shotcut video editor.
